Tip of the week: schedule teacher workdays for YOU!

Hello, all you homeschooling parents, I just did something for myself that I started doing last year...I gave myself a teacher workday! Yes, I surely did.

  Just as the public and private school teachers in our city have them scheduled, I scheduled one for myself this month. In fact, I have given myself a TW each month until we finish.

Why schedule it? You and I are not machines. Just like we need a regular 8 hours of rest each night to refresh, so too do we need to plan for a break in our routines of teaching, especially when we are educating multiple children. I have found that it gives me a chance to refresh (and catch up), and my kiddos get the same refreshment as well.

Remember: we do a lot. Schedule for yourself regular breaks, and you will be in position to go the distance this school year!
